The Virtual Reality Centre (VRC) has provided valuable support to a group of five students enrolled in SCM4308 Senior Year Project. The students proposed and implemented an innovative Augmented Reality (AR) mobile app for dangerous goods handling and warehouse management, with the guidance and assistance of the VRC.

The AR mobile app, which aims to enhance the efficiency and safety of warehouse operations, features advanced functionalities, including dangerous goods label identification and the use of virtual annotations to supplement information.

Weekly consultation workshops, led by Mr. Matt CHAN, the Senior Systems Engineer of VRC, were conducted to equip the students with the necessary skills and knowledge in AR Mobile App Development.

The comprehensive workshop content covers essential topics such as image detection, user interface design, basic 3D model design, animations, package management, and mobile app building. Through the workshops, the students have gained practical insights into the applications of extended reality in solving real-life problems in warehouse management. They have also been able to create their own AR mobile app, showcasing their creativity and technical proficiency.
