With the successfully completion on the Education Bureau funded project on the development of Tiger Balm Garden (Aw Boon Haw Gardens) in Virtual Reality from 2020 to 2023, the Virtual Reality Centre has been further funded by Aw Boon Haw Foundation with HK$3m in December 2023. The new project, titled “A Metaverse System for Enhancing Interactivity, Enthusiasm and Collaborative Learning on Fine Art Logistics and Heritage Preservation” is about the development of Metaverse system on heritage preservation and fine art logistics. It aims to preserve the culture, heritage, ethics, moral and artful packages of Mr Aw Boon Haw through the Metaverse and virtual reality technologies. It also seek to facilitate education and research as well as increasing public awareness on the culture and heritage of the Tiger Balm Garden in Hong Kong.
